the individual books

Sixteen-year-old, trainee car mechanic and motorcycle rider, Eve McGinty, isn't one to take things lying down (males please note!), but she never expected to have to step in to save the life of that annoying idiot, Adam Quinn. And she only did it because she's reserving the right to kill him herself!

Eve McGinty and her flamboyant next door neighbour, Adam Quinn, have been bitter rivals for as long as they can remember, but when Eve's younger brother, Jamie, is invited to join the rock band that the irrepressible Quinn and his friends have formed, she manages to be grudgingly pleased on his behalf. Unfortunately, the members of the band have made some dubious decisions in their eagerness to get a recording deal and when things turn nasty with the local psychopathic night club bouncers and drug dealers, Eve feels she has no option but to step in to prevent her little brother from being dragged down with the rest of the boys. And as the consequences spiral out of control, Eve is forced to spend a lot more time with the irritating Quinn than she ever really wanted to…

Contemporary, action-packed, coming-of-age romance with a strong female lead and a wanna-be alpha male. A light-hearted, fast-paced story of how one kickass teen deals with misogyny in and out of the workplace as she tries to get ahead in a traditionally male job.

This is a modern country, right? Race and religion aren't supposed to matter these days. A girl has a right to love who she wants to. You’d hope that honour killing couldn’t happen here…

When Nasim’s Muslim parents find out about her Hindu boyfriend, Rajesh, she runs away to the only friend she believes can protect her – the outspoken and confrontational Eve McGinty. Meanwhile, Eve’s relationship with her boyfriend Quinn isn’t going smoothly. When she discovers that he has been working as a mechanic for a successful Formula One stock car driver and deliberately leaving her out of the fun, she is determined to muscle in on the action. She rashly boasts to Quinn that she herself is about to become a Formula Two stock car driver. Now she has to set about making this a reality, or risk losing face.

As Nasim's family becomes increasingly threatening, Eve’s father warns her not to get involved in another culture’s fight. Great advice, but Nasim is Eve’s friend. Of course she’s involved. And Eve will never let anyone hurt her friend.

3 Thrills and Spills cover1500.jpg

How can you face the world when your most humiliating and painful moments have been broadcast to the whole nation? Wouldn’t you just want to curl up and die?

Eve McGinty and Adam Quinn are competing head to head to win the Formula Two Stocks ‘Novice of the Year’ title when a TV company turns up to film a year-long fly-on-the-wall documentary entitled ‘Thrills and Spills’. They want to recruit two young people who are just setting out in their racing careers to star in the show. When they sign up Eve and Quinn, the pair are forced to get used to increasing media intrusion in their lives.

But it’s all good fun, right? Everyone wants to be on TV, don’t they? What could possibly go wrong? When every aspect of life has to be played out in the glare of the public eye, can love survive intact? Can you?

Eighteen-year-old Eve McGinty has been identified by the pundits as the girl most likely to smash through the glass ceiling of Formula Two stock car racing. But can she prevent her unruly heart from interfering with her professional goals?

To fill the void left by her recent broken relationship, Eve launches a new business venture with her racing colleague, Jo, and throws herself into what she expects to be a light-hearted, no-strings-attached fling with another stock car driver. Back at home, Eve’s flatmate Quinn isn’t dealing well with the emotional pressure of his mother’s advancing terminal illness, while out on the track unresolved tensions with her previous boyfriend are spilling over. As the stresses of the year increase, Eve needs someone to love her unconditionally, but is it wise to let a new man into her heart?

In her most ambitious season to date, Eve should be keeping her eye on the finish line, but she hasn’t yet learned how to control that passionate temper of hers, and that’s about to get her into trouble…

When a troubled teenager confides in a young stock car racing driver, Eve McGinty, that she is being trafficked by a local gang for sex, Eve doesn’t know how to react. It sounds far-fetched and yet she can’t ignore it.

When Eve looks for help, a social worker is adamant that the girl, Jessica, is making up stories to gain attention. No one seems inclined to help Eve sort fact from fiction. Not even the police or local newspaper. To make matters worse, Jessica is asserting that all the men involved are of Pakistani origin. To avoid being accused of racism, Eve recruits Sahmir, the younger brother of her Pakistani friend Nasim, to go undercover with her. Together they set out to disprove the claims that their hometown is the hotbed of yet another shocking grooming-gang scandal.

Unfortunately, Eve can’t confide in her race team, nor any of her colleagues at the garage where she works as a motor mechanic, and her increasingly odd behaviour is causing them concern. With the added pressure of a full racing calendar, as she attempts to become the first ever female Formula Two Stocks World Champion, it isn’t surprising that events begin to spiral out of control…

An action-packed and hard-hitting exposé of the systemic failure of the authorities to safe-guard a generation of young girls from abuse in the towns of Northern Britain, this book fictionalises true events and can be read as a standalone.

How can you carve out a professional career when your dream internship is turning into a baby-sitting assignment?

When her supervisor at Williams Engineering asks Eve McGinty to support their handsome young Formula One driver, Nish Nicholson, who is struggling to recover from a serious illness and recent bereavement, Eve isn’t keen. She is desperate to be hired at the end of this placement on the basis of her own talent, but her involvement with Nish is fuelling rumours and she fears snide comments from her future colleagues about how she got the job. When Nish mysteriously disappears and Eve goes looking for him, she finds herself plunged into the most dangerous circumstances she’s ever had to face. As if this wasn’t enough, how will Eve convince a media-sensitive, top-ranking Grand Prix team to hire her when she’s been called to give evidence in a sensational grooming-gang trial and her reputation is being publicly ripped to shreds in court?

Why can’t Eve’s life ever run smoothly? Does she always have to be such a magnet for trouble? And will she ever find a man she can trust with her heart?

This book is the last one of a series and wraps up a lot of storylines. It should not be read as a standalone.
